waow.tech #
A small, static directory of experiments on AT Protocol. The project index is at
/go; the original manifesto stays at /. /about/ redirects to /. The pages need no JavaScript, dependencies, external fonts, or requests to
Blento.
Edit and preview #
The entrance shows a compact grid with real favicons and names always visible. The headline is “things to do with our data”: emphasize possibilities and agency, not abstract ownership slogans. The room CTA links to the existing after hours experience. See the room handoff.
The homepage and directory share a linked identity and explicit navigation. The
homepage explains the idea; /go/ is the only project inventory. The directory
uses plain links, source favicons, and restrained hover/focus feedback,
with no JavaScript or graphics runtime on the directory. Service status and infrastructure link to Evergreen’s public inventory; after
hours uses its own declared favicon. The homepage reads in one column at every
width, with the closing lines directly beneath the opening list.
Edit project links and descriptions directly in go/index.html; styling lives in
style.css. The account avatar is stored locally in assets/avatar.jpg. Project icons are
unaltered snapshots of each live homepage’s declared favicon, stored in
assets/icons/. Refresh them with python3 scripts/refresh-icons.py; source URLs
are recorded in scripts/icon-sources.json. Brand uses its selected bracketed-b favicon. Never substitute invented symbols for project branding.
python3 scripts/build.py
python3 -m http.server 8765 --bind 127.0.0.1 --directory dist
The build script stages an explicit allowlist of public assets. Publish dist/,
not the repository root. Existing embeds remain at their original paths. The
root 404.html also prevents Cloudflare Pages from treating the site as an SPA.
Existing hosting: Cloudflare Pages, project waow-tech. Keep it for the initial
refresh; the same static output can move to Wisp without rewriting the page.
The approved directory is published alongside the manifesto using this existing Pages project.
Local checkout #
Moved from ~/tangled.org/zzstoatzz.io/waow.tech to
~/tangled.org/waow.tech/apex on 2026-09-19. Git history and existing origin and
GitHub mirror URLs are unchanged: this is a local organization change, not a
remote repository transfer.
Bio link #
Profile link: https://waow.tech/go
The short /go path keeps the manifesto at the root. The inspected local Bluesky client
constructs rich text from profile description text and detects links itself
(src/view/screens/Profile.tsx, useRichText). A custom display-label trick
would therefore depend on client behavior; it cannot be guaranteed across forks.
Content audit, 2026-09-19 #
Read public app.blento.card and app.blento.section records directly from
https://pds.zat.dev for did:plc:siv7zbedip4vcet4v67piibr (waow.tech).
The 13 cards were last updated 2026-05-11. The initial migration retained all destinations. The later review removed the
duplicated infrastructure list in favor of Evergreen’s public inventory at
https://nate.tngl.io/. The newer additions are doodl, chimes,
pensieve, MCP Atlas, brand, and the race to 38. Descriptions were checked against
the local project READMEs. No Blento records were modified.
Automated HTTP checks returned 200 for ken, bsky38, relay, zlay, jetstream, and stream. Other project homepages returned 403 to the automated client; those responses do not establish whether the applications work in a normal browser. Full destination functionality remains unverified.
Wisp supports static files and custom domains: https://docs.wisp.place/. Hosting migration is a separate choice from this content/layout refresh.

Cloudflare Pages deployment 87b8b2f4 serves the manifesto at / and directory
at /go. /about/ redirects to /. Verified both public pages and the redirect.
The waow.tech app.bsky.actor.profile/self description now contains
https://waow.tech/go; the avatar and other record fields were preserved using
an optimistic CID check. No Blento records or DNS settings changed.
Project descriptions use short activity phrases; each remains visible on mobile. Both preview experiments are retired. The homepage uses ordinary direct links; the project directory keeps its concise descriptions.
directory curation, 2026-09-19 #
Chimes is temporarily unlisted pending further work; its deployment remains online. Rally (shared scores) and Strata (stream’s visual archive explorer) bring the grid to twelve projects. Their public pages were checked; authenticated Rally writes were not exercised. Noti remains invite-only and is not featured. Strata’s sphere-map favicon is published by its source app and mirrored here.
On 2026-09-21, added Character at Nate’s request: reimagine an RPG sprite with Jev from public AT Protocol records. Its live description and declared favicon were used for the listing. Slides was subsequently unlisted at Nate’s request; the directory contains twelve projects.
The shared header uses the avatar and “waow”, without navigation tabs. The homepage
ends with a lowercase globe/explore link to /go/; the header links home. Checked
at 390 × 740 and 1280 × 900, with the existing avatar retained as the favicon.
accessibility and minimalism #
Keep these pages as native HTML and one shared stylesheet: no client JavaScript, web fonts, or UI dependencies. Native system sans-serif fonts, conventional weights, and rem text sizes follow each device and the reader’s preferred font size. Secondary text is at least 0.875rem; project columns collapse instead of shrinking it.
The 2026-09-21 pass checked keyboard skip-to-content and visible link focus, native heading/list structure, 320px reflow, desktop layout, and 200% root text sizing combined with WCAG text-spacing overrides. No horizontal overflow was found on either page. Text contrast on white: primary 15.10:1, secondary 5.17:1, accent 6.57:1. Forced-colors focus uses the system highlight color; reduced-motion handling remains. This is a targeted browser pass, not a full screen-reader or cross-device certification.
References: reflow and text spacing.
square peg pictures #
/square-peg/ lists the tech.waow.squarepeg.figure records in the waow.tech
repo on pds.zat.dev: pictures from the inscribed square work, each labelled
proved, sketched, numerical, or retracted. The page keeps the no-JavaScript rule:
python3 scripts/build_square_peg.py reads the records and writes
square-peg/index.html with the text baked in, and the images load from the
PDS blob endpoint. Re-run it, then build and publish, after figures change. The
records are written from the square-peg repo (scripts/publish_figures.py). The
page is not linked from /go/.
