talky jev #

A bot for Bluesky and Slack that uses Jev to choose the text of its replies. Inspired by Cee’s word tournament. Jev chooses between appending text and ending the reply, with a shared decoder for both platforms.

Tag Jev for a reply with thread, image, and quoted-post context. Nate approves access on Bluesky by liking refusals; Slack responds in channels it has joined.

Requires Python 3.13+, uv, just, and Node.js for the identity Worker tests.

The bot runs on heavypad and receives Bluesky interactions through Spacedust. Deployment requires SSH access, configured SOPS credentials, and a clean commit pushed to main. Slack uses Socket Mode; see Slack setup.

Decoder describes the shared implementation. Experiments and research notes preserve the investigations; historical runs use their recorded commits.
