STAR: STreaming ARchive format #

STAR is simpler, stricter, and smaller than CAR, and can be canonical and stream-friendly.

soon: updated reference impls (and in more languages)

Note: STAR-lite archives from hubble are currently v0 format (public atproto repos).

Note: the v1 format is not yet stabilized.
