Hello there!
It can be nice to think of atproto records as files that can be used by many applications on the network, similar to files on a file system in one computer. I think would be lovely for them to be actual files too!
The performance would be sufficient for personal PDSs or other small use cases, it would enable non-atproto tools to work with the records (e.g. command line tools, etc), and would enable folks to use version control systems, filesystem snapshots, etc to easily keep track of and look after their records.
