Here's my problem I'm trying to solve: I use Obsidian on the daily to collect notes on my thoughts, projects, new things i learn, new references as well as to nurture a growing evergreen digital garden. I currently switch a lot between apple devices and my linux desktop. In the near future I will also add my new linux laptop to the mix.
The sync between apple devices can work quite ok with iCloud and I've not had any issues with its use in Obsidian so far, but nothing outside the Apple ecosystem can reach there, so I'm looking for a solution that works with both. I currently use it with a git setup in the root of the vault I sync which points to a git repo on a nas, where both my mac laptop and my linux desktop can access. It works ok so far, but the back and forth of making sure I push and pull every time I want to swap devices is a pain.
I would ideally like to have it so that I run either locally on that machine, and using a local-first sync engine and potentially iroh as the communication layer, I can have it seamlessly update between all my layers without needing to push and pull manually.
I would see this stack primarily in Rust and using iroh.
